Hoher Kasten is a modern gondola lift station located in the Canton of Appenzell in the east part of Switzerland. Amazing place. I climbed to the top for 2 hours (not so easy), there are 2 restaurants, but I was in only one on the top. Good food and drinks, fantastic views.

Nice 3h hike with great views
The area is simply amazing. It's one of our favorite hiking spots with the family. It's not too challenging so the kids can walk along but also not too flat so there's nothing interesting for us. The view from the top is awesome especially when sometimes a low clowd drifts by and hides some of the villages on the other slopes; just looks great!
Fantastic! Amazing 360 degree view. Go early in the day before the clouds blow in and if it’s a clear day. Bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
It's Amazing up here. The cable car up and down ride offer, with breakfast at saturday and sunday morning is genius. But you should make a reservation
Super nice Mountain wich offers one of the greatest views in the Canton of Appenzell (east part of Switzerland). Also great for Paragliding. Very nice Restaurant on Top offers a 360 degrees view. Also very friendly personel running the gondola, which brings you on top conveniently and safely.
Very nice location with a fantastic view over all mountains and places arround it.
When you want to have a breakfast in the turning restaurant, then you have to book very early and it's very full, loud and not very "romantic". But the food is great.
